Anorexia and Bulimia: Working on getting past the stigma and shame


Eating disorders are a huge problem in the United States. Yet in many cases, social stigmas and patient denial prevent sufferers from seeking help. This problem exists throughout our country and our home state of California is no exception. Is there a feasible way to address this issue and to help diminish the negative power that social stigma’s have? Millions of Americans suffer from eating disorders and social stigmas surrounding the issue only prevent those afflicted from getting quality medical care. One way we can accomplish this is simply by talking about the issue. Californians who are afflicted by these disorders should know that reaching out for help is a sign of strength not weakness. Eating disorder rehab in California is an important early step in addressing these illnesses.
